BA Musical Theatre is the newest degree programme in the department of Performing Arts at the University of Winchester. It builds on the success of the innovative BA Vocal and Choral Studies and the research expertise of staff at Winchester. As such the programme has a strong focus on the interaction of theory and practice, and on the development of vocal performance.

The Department is now seeking to appoint a new member of the team to support the development of the programme.  We are ideally looking for a candidate who is able to contribute to both practical and theoretical teaching across the programme, which will crucially be informed by on-going research in the field of musical theatre. As such the position requires a sustained on-going contribution to the research and artistic culture of the department.  In addition candidates will be expected to take on day-to-day administrative and programme leading responsibility.

The position contributes to the development, delivery and coordination of teaching within the newly created BA Musical Theatre and possibly across other programmes in the Department.

Teaching would be delivered across the programme in some of the following areas: Musical Theatre History and Context; Musical Theatre Dramaturgies; Critical Theory and Performance Analysis; Direction/Choreography/Devising of musical theatre; Musical Direction.
