Call for New Book Reviews Editor for Performing Ethos
The Co-Editors of Performing Ethos (PEET) are seeking a new Book Reviews Editor to join the team from issue 15.2 (2025).
Aims & Scope
Performing Ethos aims to uncover and explore key ethical issues facing theatre and performance today. With an emphasis on experimental, intercultural and interdisciplinary performance methodologies, PEET promotes a dynamic interchange between scholarship and performance practice, providing a forum for research from a range of perspectives, including theatre, performance, dance, digital culture, popular entertainment, social studies and politics. Acknowledging that ethical issues are contextually determined, the journal aims to facilitate debate about how ethics are expressed, experienced, and practised, across a range of contexts and environments.
Committed to reformulating notions of performance and performativity to advance discussions in areas such as the politics of care and inclusion, gender and sexuality, race and identity, presence, activism and the environment, PEET encourages submissions that challenge boundaries, exploring performance as a hermeneutical device for the communication, representation and expression of ethical practices and concerns.
Global in scope, PEET features articles, interviews, documentation, reflective writing, art writings and essays examining the processes and practices of theatre and performance, considering the ethical dimensions of theatre and performance in relation to the social, cultural and political dimensions of context and site.
PEET is indexed with Scopus, British Humanities Index, EBSCO, International Index to the Performing Arts and the Modern Language Association.
