The Käte Hamburger Research Centre “Dis:connectivity in processes of globalisation” (global dis:connect) at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich invites ap- plications for fellowships of between 6 and 12 months for the academic year 2025/26. The centre explores from international and transdisciplinary perspectives the inter- dependent, complex relationship between global interconnectedness, lack of inter- connectedness and disentanglement in historical and contemporary globalisation processes. Scholars from the humanities and social sciences, especially from the fields of history, theatre studies and art history, are invited to apply. The work of the fellows should have a clear connection to the general goals of the Käte Hamburg- er Research Centre and deal with at least one of its guiding topics.
PROPOSALS MAY ADDRESS...
-
...the significance of different forms of dis:connectivity such as interruptions, absences or detours
-
...laboratories of dis:connectivity in which the tensions between global connec- tions and disconnections manifest themselves (e.g. islands, borders or en- campments)
-
...cultural infrastructures and their dis:connective role in globalisation
-
...temporal dis:connectivities in the context of globalisation
Applications are open to post-doctoral as well as senior researchers who have already distinguished themselves with outstanding work within the thematic focus of the centre.
