Faculty:
Jo Roantree qualified in 2004 as a teaching member of PAAT. Since then, she has taught Alexander Technique both to individuals and groups online and in person. She also taught students for a number of years at the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford. Having attended courses in both MBCL and MBSR run by Victoria she practises mindfulness through the Alexander Technique. Both before and after learning the Technique she gained deep experience of caring for loved ones and have recently been involved in running the Self-Compassion and the Alexander Technique with colleagues.
Victoria Door (PhD) worked in private practice in the Alexander Technique for 10 years before taking the skills learnt in the Technique into teaching languages in secondary school. She then moved into lecturing in teacher education at Keele University, coming across mindfulness when it was introduced to trainee teachers at Keele in 2014. She became interested in how both Alexander Technique and Mindfulness approach the relief of suffering. Having taken the Masters in Mindfulness-Based Approaches at the University of Bangor, she now teaches both Alexander Technique and Mindfulness and is currently researching possible relationships between Alexander Technique with Mindfulness.
Adam Rolleston has been qualified as an Alexander teacher for 12 years. During that time, he has worked closely with colleagues to further develop his skills and to explore the wider aspect of the Technique. He has taught in a variety of settings, including introductory courses in the Technique at Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham. He has more recently been involved in running online "Exploring our Practice" courses and weekend workshops which have taken place in a mixture of online and face to face settings. His current interests include exploring the application of the Technique in meditation and movement practices. Alongside the Alexander Technique he also works as a network modeller in the field of energy transportation.
