TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY – Associate Professor in Theatre Arts, Community Performance
The Department of Performance Studies seeks a tenured Associate Professor with a record of nationally prominent scholarship and/or creative work in community performance to contribute to its Theatre Arts Program and M.A. in Performance Studies. The ideal candidate will have both a record and an ongoing program of research that advances the Department's areas of strength: cultural politics of expressive forms, vernacular culture, ethnographic methods, and performance as research. Applicants whose work extends beyond the United States are encouraged to apply. PhD in Theatre or Performance Studies required. Applicant must demonstrate a record meriting tenure at a Research I (very high research expectations), AAU university. Teaching expectations include, but are not limited to, undergraduate courses in theatre history and performance in world cultures, and M.A. seminars. Directing opportunities are available. Standard teaching load is 2/2 with high research expectations and contributions to the development of the Department's Theatre Arts and Performance Studies programs

The Department of Performance Studies, one of twelve academic departments in the College of Liberal Arts, is composed of two undergraduate degree programs, one in theatre and one in music, and a master's program in performance studies.
