David Greig Festival

Following the success of its previous Playwright’s Festivals (Caryl Churchill, 2011; Sarah Kane, 2012; and Mark Ravenhill, 2013), Lincoln School of Performing Arts is pleased to announce its 2014 Playwright’s Festival, dedicated to the works of David Greig. On Saturday 29 March 2014, this festival will culminate in a one-day symposium bringing together scholars, theatre practitioners and students to discuss one of Britain ’s most enduring, adventurous and engaging playwrights.
 
Confirmed speakers include:
 
            Professor Dan Rebellato, co-editor of The Suspect Culture Book (2013)
            Dr Clare Wallace, author of The Theatre of David Greig (2013)
 
We invite 15 minute papers on all aspects of David Greig’s works for theatre. Possible topics or themes might include (but are not limited to):
 
· Contemporary critical approaches to the analysis and staging of Greig’s plays
 
· Greig as a ‘good internationalist’
 
· Greig’s work as playwright and theatre maker with Suspect Culture
 
· Greig’s contribution to and influence upon Scottish theatre cultures
 
Deadline for abstracts of 200 words: 17 January 2014.
