Lecturer in Drama, Theatre and Performance: Theatre and the Environment, University of Lancaster.

The Department of Theatre at the Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA) at Lancaster University seeks to appoint a lecturer in Drama, Theatre and Performance with a specialist focus on environmentalism, climate change, ecocriticism, or a related area. You will contribute to the development of the socially-engaged and applied theatre strands within our undergraduate programmes. This will include the development of new modules as well as research-led supervisions of students’ practical work.  You will also be expected to engage with local and regional stakeholders to further develop the Theatre Department’s cooperation with regional environmental initiatives, such as the Eden Project North. 

The post is open to candidates with broad knowledge of theatre and performance who can contribute to both lecture- and studio-based teaching, as well as supervision of dissertations. The department is particularly interested in expanding the global and cultural reach of its teaching and research. As LICA is committed to research-led teaching, you must be able to demonstrate an established or growing profile of excellent research. Finally, you will be expected to have the commitment and necessary competences to participate in the Department’s everyday administrative functions. - We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
