Resident Academic Full Time Post in Dance Studies

Applications are invited for a Resident Academic full time post in Dance Studies in the School of Performing Arts of the University of Malta.


The appointment will be on an indefinite basis, subject to a one-year probationary period, up to statutory retirement age.


The appointee will be required to contribute to the teaching, research, outreach, administrative and other activities of the Department of Dance Studies in the School of Performing Arts, and as may be required by the University.


Candidates must be in possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent research based doctorate in Dance or a Dance-related subject and be able to offer expertise in the teaching of at least three of the following: dance techniques, dance and technology, dance science, practice as research, dance and performance theory. It is also a requirement that the appointee be able to contribute to the teaching of the Bachelor Degree in Performing Arts, the Masters programmes: Performance Studies (Dance) degree and Master in Teaching and Learning and any other instruction that the department or the school may require.



Applicants should submit their letter of application by e-mail to together with their curriculum vitae, certificates and names and e-mails of three referees. They are also required to submit a full twelve-week programme for a second-year dance and performance theory or dance and technology study unit (24 teaching hours). Persons qualified in dance practice are also requested to send an unedited video of a class they have held.
